چکیده

Abstract In light of measuring the fast ionized particle confinement in stellarator Wendelstein 7-X, particles generated by neutral beam injection system are simulated to determine placement an array Faraday-cup ion loss detectors. This is important due localization pattern, which changes drastically with experimental parameters. The Monte Carlo codes BEAMS3D and ASCOT5 used for simulations, following from wall collision. Different magnetic configurations plasma pressures investigated this manner, a configuration suitable fraction found. It qualitatively reproduces global losses, installable locations current carbon wall-tiles individual detector output appears well-suited purposes.

Modeling the response of a fast ion loss detector using orbit tracing techniques in a neutral beam prompt-loss study on the DIII-D tokamak.

A numerical model describing the expected measurements of neutral beam prompt-losses by a newly commissioned fast ion loss detector (FILD) in DIII-D is presented. This model incorporates the well understood neutral beam deposition profiles from all eight DIII-D beamlines to construct a prompt-loss source distribution. The full range of detectable ion orbit phase space available to the FILD is u...

Modeling of ion-cyclotron resonant heating in Wendelstein 7-X equilibrium

W7X stellarator 3D equilibrium has been computed with the equilibrium code ANIMEC (Anisotropic Neumann Inverse Moments Equilibrium Code). This equilibrium was used to model ICRH minority heating in 4 He(H) plasma with the 3D full-wave code LEMan (Low frequency ElectroMagnetic wave propagation). The coupled power spatial distribution is shown for different resonance positions within the range of...
